Pay homage to the diverse creative history of the Deep Ellum neighborhood.

Deep Ellum has been known for over 100 years as a hub of artistic expression in the South. In the early to mid 1900s, it served as one of the first black business and entertainment districts in Texas, and quickly became known as one of the top hubs of jazz and blues in the Southwest.

Later on in the 80s and 90s, the neighborhood became a hangout for alternative and punk as well as home to numerous artist studios.

Currently, the neighborhood is seeing a resurgence as the top entertainment district in the city, with over 20 music venues, and 40+ restaurants and bars.

From the very beginning, Deep Ellum was a place where folk explored their own forms of expression, operating outside the mainstream and paving paths that would endure long after their creators had gone.

Support the neighborhood by supporting it's businesses.

We can't wait for you to come and shop from the works of local creatives at the market, but there is so much more that you can do to support Deep Ellum. While you are in the neighborhood, be sure to stop in for a delicious meal at the numerous restaurants, a drink at the bars, purchase gifts from the stores, browse art at galleries, or even get a tattoo if you are feeling adventurous!
